Since then, the Geranium in La Cala de Mijas has gone from
strength to strength. Celebrating its’ second anniversary in
October 2025.
Steven opened his Little Geranium in La Cala village in May 2015.
Originally it was designed to be an early retirement project (a
hobby!) for Steven but since the success of the restaurant was such,
Steven surrendered! Some years later, Covid and a change in his
domestic situation, meant he returned to the UK to open another
venture there.
“Since opening in 2023, we really have come a long way for a small
restaurant. I have a great team with me and even more pleasing so
many five-star reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. We open for
Tapas lunches (needless to say they are a bit different to most) and
have a great tasting menu as well. Also we are very pleased with
our incredibly successful Sunday Lunches with our unique ‘carving
from the trolley’ “a la Simpsons of The Strand”, a place I remember
fondly from my days in London.”
“We have also added our Geranium Yacht, Geranium Jet and
Cookery School. We have also added our VIP card with special
offers and discounts.”
“So welcome to my world and come and share it with me and my
team. Whether it’s for a fantastic Artistic Tapa Lunch, Sunday
Special Day, or tasting menus for the evening you will enjoy our
hospitality. I look forward to seeing you.”

Chef Steven Saunders was trained at the famous Savoy Hotel in London in the seventies and went on to become Britain’s youngest ever Chef Patron of a privately owned hotel and restaurant in North Essex called The White Hart in Great Yeldham, in 1981.
